Shirin Nashat’s film, Women without Men, is a poignant drama based on the novel by Shahrnush Parsipur.
The story is set in Iran in 1953, when the country was in the midst of revolution.
We see the impact of this time in history on four different women as they struggle with current events and their role in society.
It is beautifully and artistically directed, so it is easy to become immersed in the story and empathize with each of the characters.
