The world of children’s music has exploded over the last several years. It used to be harder to find music for kids, but now there are a whole lot of choices for fun, age appropriate music that makes kids want to sing and dance.
The latest release from Red Yarn, Born in The Deep Woods, is a great CD to add to your child’s collection.
Andy Furgeson is the folk singer who created Red Yarn. He was born and raised in Austin, Texas and has now made Portland, Oregon his home. His sound is just what I’d expect from someone who has lived in both of these cities. This is his fourth album.
His wife, Jessie Eller-Isaacs, also has musical skills. Her vocal harmonies add a beautiful depth to the songs. The cover photo was taken when she was pregnant with the couple’s second child and some of the lyrics reflect upon the wonders of welcoming a new child into the family.

The more music the better. We come from a very musical background and music is a big part of our lives. We even have a house band and a music room. I would love to introduce this to the wee ones. I bet they would love it.
