Activision Games for Girls
Hooray for girl gamers!
For many years the gaming industry has been dominated with products that are geared towards boys and men. There is some cross-over and it’s impossible to confine boys and girls to stereotypes, but in general boys and girls do not always choose the same types of games.
Girls are perfectly capable of enjoying and mastering video games, but in the past they may not have liked the selection of games. This is unfortunate due to all of the benefits of gaming.
Yes, I said “benefits of gaming.”
Obviously, you don’t want your child to be on the couch, glued to their game 24/7. Moderation and a balanced life are a good thing. Play is good for kids and it has many social, mental and physical rewards. Gaming helps develop quick thinking, manual dexterity and creative thinking skills.
If I had to pick one favorite benefit, it would be that games reinforce the idea that it’s ok to fail. When you fail, you just need to try again and again until you learn to succeed. Most of game playing is failing, yet kids play the games over and over again. Gaming teaches this important life lesson in a way that sticks.
Activision’s new line of games have definite girl appeal, but many boys will enjoy them as well.
Each of the games is tied into a brand that children are already familiar with. There are coordinating toys and accessories that all work together to enhance both the game play and play with the toys themselves.
The games are fun to play the first time and there are enough challenges and creative features to keep kids entertained for a long time.
