The poppy became the state flower of California in 1903, and we can still see this wildflower blooming in fields and on mountainsides each year.
I can usually see some near my house, but can see many more on drives.
The orange flowers are simply stunning, so it always makes me happy to see them.
One California poppy is pretty, but usually we are treated to many of them at once.
You can plant poppy seeds or just enjoy them where nature plants them.
