Father’s Day Key Craft
Supplies:
Vintage-look metal key (bonus points if it’s a bottle opener key like mine!)
Pre-cut gift tag (construction paper, cardstock, or a pre-made tag decorated with scrapbook paper all work great!)
Pen
Twine or colorful string
Hole punch (if your tag doesn’t already have one)
Optional: Embellishments like glitter glue, stickers, or tiny stamps
How-To:
Think from the Heart: This is the most important step! Choose a message to write on your tag. Here are some inspirational ideas to get you started:
- “Dad, you hold the key to my heart.”
- “Thanks for unlocking all the possibilities for me, Dad.”
- “The key to a great dad: You!”
- “This key unlocks years of laughter (and maybe a few groans) with Dad.”
- “Dad, you’re the key to all the fun!”

Write with Flair: Pen your message onto the gift tag. Feel free to get creative with colorful pens or add a small drawing next to your message.
Punch a Hole: Using the hole punch, create a hole at the top of the gift tag.
Cut Your Twine: Measure a piece of twine or string to your desired length.
Assemble! Thread the twine through the hole in the gift tag. Securely fasten the twine to the key using a knot or loop.
Optional Embellishments: This is where you and your family can get creative! Add some sparkle with glitter glue, personalize it with stickers, or create a tiny keyhole design with a stamp.
