Football season is here! While this sport may make perfect sense to adult fans, it can be very confusing for kids. They may enjoy the parties and the feeling of camaraderie as family and friends gather to cheer on their favorite teams, but the rest of it may not make a whole lot of sense.
Let’s Play Football is a fun picture book designed to help kids understand football and learn to really enjoy it. The book is written by Jon Richter and illustrated by Joseph Krzemienski and even includes a free app. They have done a great job of turning their passion for the sport into something that children can relate to.
The book is probably best for kids in the 4-8 year old range. It includes a lot of detail, including the basic rules of the game, and it’s all done in a very kid friendly, age-appropriate way that translates well into the real world.
Naturally, there is still plenty of room for conversation and questions during the games, but this is a great way for kids to learn to appreciate the sport when they are young, so that the whole family can enjoy the sport together!
