A Silent Voice Movie
Bullying is a hot topic these days, and the new A Silent Voice movie will help you see it in a new way. We tend to think of bullying in terms of the victim, but this story shows us the impact it has on the bully, too. Everyone is impacted adversely, when there is bullying – the bully, the victim and those who witness it.
The film is based on the best selling series of manga books by Yoshitoki Oima. I haven’t read them, yet, but the movie experience is very similar to a manga book. The animation tells a painful and thought provoking story in a beautiful way.
It is in the original Japanese with English subtitles, which is typically preferred among fans of the genre. The film and it’s messages about the complicated issues of bullying are great for teens and adults. This is an excellent choice for family movie night, since it will spark deep conversations.
Yes, it is entertaining, but is much more than just entertainment.
