Award Winning Documentary: Back to Sölöz
Journey Back to Soloz, when a French filmmaker who is of Armenian origin returns to the village of his grandparents in Turkey.
The Armenian genocide occurred a little over a century ago, but had huge ramifications for Armenians and the impact is still felt today.
This award winning documentary gives us an inside look at the history, but also insight into the present.
The film wasn’t rushed, but has been in the works for decades.
Serge Avedikian traveled to Soloz four times between 1987 and 2019, learning more each time.
He combines the family history he knew with his own experiences to create a moving and informative documentary about the people and culture impacted by the very significant events of the past.
