Leftover Wallpaper Gift Tag Craft

Supplies

Unfinished Wood Gift Tags
Self-stick Wallpaper (any pattern or color works!)
Twine or Ribbon
Craft Knife
Cutting Mat
Scraper (Squeegee)

Instructions

  1. Cut the wallpaper to a usable size. If you’re making multiple tags, you can cut them all out at once to save time.
  2. Peel off the backing from the wallpaper sticker.
  3. Place the unfinished wood gift tag on the sticky wallpaper and press down firmly. Repeat for additional tags on the same piece of wallpaper.
  4. Carefully cut the gift tags out using the craft knife with a cutting mat to protect your table surface.
  5. Flip the tag over and use the squeegee a couple times to make sure the wallpaper is bubble-free and firmly attached to the wood.
  6. Thread twine or ribbon through the hole at the top of the tag and tie a knot.
  7. Personalize your tags with names, messages, or even small drawings.

Tips for using leftover wallpaper

  • If the wallpaper is not self-stick, you can use a glue stick or spray adhesive to attach it to the wood tags.
  • When wallpaper is wrinkled, you can use a heat gun or blow dryer on a low setting to smooth it out.
