DIY Wood Gift Tags with Buttons and Beads: A Fun and Easy Craft
This personalized wood gift tag craft with buttons and beads is a fun and easy craft for kids and adults.
You can learn how to make your own unique and adorable gift tags with this step-by-step tutorial.
Use the letter beads to add the initials or name of the person who will be receiving a present with this tag on it.
This craft is easy to make, even for kids.
No special skills are needed and each person can get creative as they arrange the beads and buttons on the wood tag.
You can make one wood gift tag craft, or you can make many.
This is also a fun group craft activity that anyone can enjoy.
No matter how you choose to make them, wood gift tag crafts are a fun and easy way to personalize your gifts.
Wood Gift Tags
Unfinished wood gift tags are a versatile and easy-to-use material for crafting.
They can be used to create personalized tags for Christmas, birthdays or any occasion, and they can be reused year after year.
Easy to Use
Unfinished wood tags are simple to work with.
They can be used without sanding them and the holes are pre-drilled.
One of the best things about unfinished wood tags is that they can be reused.
After you have used a tag once, simply store it for the next time you need a gift tag.
This is a great way to reduce waste and save money.
Perfect for Any Occasion
Unfinished wood tags can be used for any occasion.
They are perfect for birthdays, holidays, weddings, and other special events.
Buttons are a versatile and affordable way to add charm to your crafts.
They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, so you can find the perfect buttons to suit your style.
The natural/earthy colors of the buttons I used coordinate perfectly with the unfinished wood, creating a rustic look.
If bright, bold colors are more your style, that’s fine, too.
Another option is to use button colors that represent a favorite sports team or school.
Buttons are also easy to work with, even for kids.
They can be arranged in any pattern you like, giving you endless possibilities for customization.
Letter Beads: A Personal Touch
Letter beads are a great way to add a personal touch to your wood gift tags.
You can spell out the recipient’s name or just use their initials, like I did.
Letter beads are flat on two sides, making them easy to glue to the wooden tag.
They come in a variety of colors and styles, so you can find the perfect beads to match your style.
Choosing the Right Glue for the Craft
When choosing a glue for this craft, there are a few factors to consider.
The buttons and beads are small and not heavy, so you don’t need a super strong glue.
However, you do want a glue that will hold the buttons and beads in place securely.
Regular white school glue is a good option for this craft. It is kid-friendly, clear, non-toxic, and easy to use. It dries clear, so it won’t discolor the wood tags.
Tacky craft glue is a thicker, more adhesive glue that is also a good option for this craft. It is good for projects that require a stronger bond.
Which glue should you use?
If you are concerned about the buttons or beads falling off, you can use tacky craft glue.
However, regular white school glue worked just fine for me.
