DIY Spring Picture Frame Made with Washi Tape & Pom Poms
This easy Easter picture frame craft is a whole lot of fun and perfect for kids and adults to do alone or in a group.
Made with a ready-to-use paper picture frame, washi tape, and pom poms in spring colors, this craft is sure to bring a smile to your face.
With just a few simple supplies, you can create a beautiful and festive Easter decoration that you’ll love to display for years to come.
I hope you enjoy making your Easter picture frame!
Paper Picture Frames
This budget-friendly craft starts with a ready-to-use paper picture frame.
The frames are conveniently packaged with twine and mini clothespins, so you can easily add your own personal touches.
They are made from sturdy cardboard that is inexpensive, but look nice when you hang them up.
I used a white frame for the Easter frame to add to the light, Spring look, but any other color would be fine, too—black, natural, or something colorful.
They typically come in sets of 10, 30, or 50 frames, so you can pick up however many you need.
It’s easy to slip your photo in through the opening at the top.
If you have a Cricut or other cutting machine, you can make and assemble your own picture frames, but these are very reasonably priced and it’s convenient to have the frames already put together and packaged with twine and clothespins.
Easter Colors
Easter is a time for celebration and new beginnings, and the colors associated with the holiday reflect that.
Pastel pink, blue, and yellow are all popular Easter colors, and they represent hope, joy, and new life.
Pink is often associated with love and femininity, while blue is associated with peace and tranquility.
Yellow is the color of the sun, and it represents happiness and optimism.
Together, these colors create a cheerful and festive atmosphere that is perfect for Easter.
I used pastel pink, blue, and yellow for my picture frame craft, and I think it turned out great!
The colors are very spring-like and they really make the frame pop.
Washi Tape
Washi tape is a versatile decorative tape made from natural fibers, such as paper mulberry, hemp, or rice.
It is often used in crafting, scrapbooking, and journaling projects, and it comes in a variety of colors, sizes, and designs.
For this craft, I used pastel pink checkerboard washi tape.
However, you are free to be creative and use whatever Easter colors or patterns you like.
Washi tape is not as sticky as other types of tape, so it can be repositioned right away without leaving any residue behind.
Pom Poms
Pom poms are easy to use, regardless of skill level, making this craft perfect for small children, mom’s craft night, or anything in between.
For the Easter craft, I used pastel pom poms in pink, blue, and yellow. Be creative and come up with your own design or make your frame like mine.
The 1/2-inch size pom poms are a good fit for the picture frame, but you can use larger pom poms if you prefer.
Before gluing the pom poms to the picture frame, arrange them in order to get an idea of how many you need and how you want to organize the colors.
Glue
You can use either regular white school glue or a tacky craft glue for this craft.
School glue is cheap, great for kids, and easy to clean up.
Tacky glue sticks better, but it can be more difficult to clean up if messes are made while crafting.
Either type of glue is fine, so use what is best for you.

½ inch size Pom Poms in Spring Colors

Instructions
1) Gather your supplies and make a general plan as to how you will arrange the washi tape and pom poms on the paper frame.
2) Add strips of washi tape on all four sides of the frame. Use scissors to trim off any extra tape. Use the same tape on all four sides like I did or mix it up with different colors or patterns.
3) Glue pom poms on top of the washi tape. I used blue, yellow and pink pom poms in each of the four corners. Do that or come up with your own design.
4) Add a strip of washi tape to the mini clothespin. Glue a single pom pom on the end of the clothespin that will be clipped onto the frame, not the end that you need to press down on to open and close the clothespin.
5) Let the glue dry.
6) Now, your frame is ready to use with a favorite Easter photograph.
